Time-shifted usage

Time-shifted usage refers to television usage that takes place on the 3 days following the broadcast date. It has been part of the AGF system through playback on DVD or Blu-ray recorders, DVR and VCR since 07/01/2009.

For the representation in the evaluation and planning systems, a distinction is made between product-related and recipient-related time-shifted usage:

• In the product-related view, all usage events up to 3 days after the broadcast date are added to the performance value of the broadcast. This applies equally to programming, advertising and intervals of time.
• In the recipient related view, the performance value of a broadcaster is calculated as follows: In addition to the live (or real-time) use, all time-shifted usage in the selected time period (maximum 7 days) of the broadcaster in question, thus including older recordings on VCR, PVR, DVD recorders and the like, is included in the calculation of the performance value. However, information indicating which recorded programs were used is lost, so that this point of view can only be applied to periods of time.

The terms real-time, time-delayed and time-shifted usage were replaced with live and non-live on 02/25/2015.
